- Advertisement -ISLAMABAD, Jan 29 (APP):The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast light to moderate rain and snowfall in northern parts of the country and North Balochistan during the coming days, as a shallow westerly wave is expected to approach western and northern regions from the night of January 30 and persist until February 03. The met office said light rain is also expected in Islamabad, the Potohar region, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala and surrounding areas from February 01 to 03, while Murree and the Galliyat may experience light rain and snowfall. In northern Balochistan, including Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, Chaman, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah, Noshki and Harnai, light to moderate rain with wind and snowfall is expected from January 31 to February 01. PMD warned that snowfall may lead to slippery road conditions in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and northern Balochistan, including tourist destinations such as Naran, Kaghan, Swat, Kalam, Chitral, Astore, Hunza, Skardu, Neelum Valley, Murree, Ziarat and Quetta. There is also a possibility of landslides and avalanches in hilly areas during the forecast period.
