An AI image that purported to show the federal agent accused of killing Good quickly appeared online after her Jan. 7 death.
The AI image of Pretti's killing is more nuanced than many, Farid said, because it combines something real with hallucinated elements.
He said state-sponsored propogandists in Russia, China, North Korea and Iran use AI images to disrupt society, elections and social cohesion.
Fake images are nothing new, but AI is supercharging misinformation and "there's no putting the genie back in the bottle."
But if people could make these fake images and fake videos and there was no delivery mechanism, I mean, honestly, who cares?
