An Elgin support worker who slept during a night shift when he was responsible for caring for vulnerable children has been given a 12-month warning. The report notes: “You were responsible for the care of vulnerable children and although there was no harm caused to any of the children, your actions placed them at an unnecessary risk of harm. The report states: “You were also told by a colleague that you should not be sleeping on duty. Olobuah had also been provided with a positive reference from another support worker and engaged fully with the SSSC. A spokesperson for Aberlour Childcare Trust told The Northern Scot: “We can confirm that Chinonye Olobuah worked as an agency support worker for two shifts at one of Aberlour’s services in May 2025.
