The federal government has assured the textile industry of continued engagement and immediate attention to its key concerns, as senior ministers met representatives of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) in Islamabad.
During the meeting, the ministers acknowledged the textile sector’s central role in Pakistan’s economy, particularly its contribution to exports, employment, and industrial output.
The finance minister said the government is actively reviewing factors affecting the cost of doing business for export-oriented industries.
Earlier, the APTMA delegation briefed the ministers on the current state of the textile sector, pointing to growing pressures from rising input costs and intensifying global competition.
The industry representatives stressed that policy consistency, reasonable energy pricing, and timely resolution of operational issues are essential to sustain exports and protect jobs.
