A week after a Portland & Western Railroad train ran off its rails while crossing a wooden bridge over a small river near the Oregon coast, three train cars are still stranded on the damaged bridge.

As of Tuesday, crews from the Rick Franklin Corporation, a derailment response company, were still working at the site of the Toledo trestle mishap.
The agency fined Portland & Western $81,600, saying the Jan. 2025 derailment sent 200 tons of urea into the Marys River.
Portland & Western moves freight to and from the Georgia-Pacific mill, including inbound wood chips and outbound containerboard.
