The Centre for Law and Indigenous Studies, Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur, released the first volume of Koitur: People of Nature, an annual magazine that examines Indigenous life and culture through interdisciplinary and legal perspectives. Conceived within a premier law school, Koitur: People of Nature goes beyond cultural documentation to engage with Indigenous issues through constitutional, legal, and policy frameworks. By integrating legal analysis with cultural and ecological perspectives, Koitur seeks to foster informed discourse on Indigenous justice, sustainability, and inclusive development. As a distinctive academic initiative, Koitur: People of Nature aspires to serve as a bridge between academia, Indigenous communities, and policy discourse, contributing meaningfully to Indigenous studies and rights-based scholarship. The release function had Prof V.C.Vivekanandan, Vice Chancellor of HNLU, Dr. Ayan Hazra, Editor of Koitur and Head of the Centre for Law and Indigenous Studies and Dr. Deepak Srivastava, Registrar in Charge attended by faculty and students.
