Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Thursday arrested a former secretary of Dahunda Service Co-operative Society under Bhogarai Block of Balasore district for allegedly misappropriating government funds to the tune of Rs 19.80 lakh. He was arrested for alleged misappropriation of Rs 19,80,255/- for extending benefit to ineligible members of the society under Crop Insurance Scheme during financial year 2014-15 by manipulating official records. ADVERTISEMENTVigilance department said in a statement that the accused is being forwarded to the court of the special judge, Vigilance, Balasore. In this connection, a case has been registered against Sahu under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. Investigation in the case is underway.
