By Felix KhanobaThe Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has extended the deadline for applications for the 2025/2026 academic session to February 27, 2026, giving prospective beneficiaries nearly one extra month to complete their submissions. The extension, which shifts the earlier deadline of January 31, 2026, was announced in a statement signed by Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, Director of Strategic Communications at NELFUND on Thursday. The move, according to the Fund, is aimed at ensuring that no eligible Nigerian student is denied access to the scheme due to time constraints. We understand that some applicants may require additional time to complete their submissions, and this decision ensures that every eligible Nigerian student has a fair opportunity to benefit from the Fund,” Sawyerr said. The Fund added that further updates and relevant information would continue to be communicated through its official channels.
