Parrott focus of county’s America 250 kick-off

By TIM THOMASTimes editorHardin County will kick-off its salute to America 250 with a free special program Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Hardin County Courthouse.
The year-long celebration is being spearheaded by Deb Phillips from the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance; Jennifer Ulmer, executive director with the Hardin County Historical Museum; and the Hardin County Commissioners.
In Hardin County that will mean celebrating Jacob Parrott, the nation’s first Medal of Honor recipient.
He will discuss the role of Jacob Parrott and highlight other historical figures and places in Hardin County history.
September County Fair (Hardin County will differ from the state for August and September because of the date of when the fair falls).
