Santander to close Welwyn Garden City branch

The Spain-based banking giant has revealed plans to shut 44 of its branches in the latest round of cuts, putting 291 workers are at risk of redundancy. Welwyn Garden City is among the locations set to go, with the branch closing for the final time on Tuesday, May 5. Santander said the closures are part of an overhaul of its store network linked to a shift from its customers towards its digital services.
