Lanes 1 and 2 remained closed as of the last update from National Highways at 8am. The AA traffic maps shows the current situation at 8.50am near the Yate area with some tailbacks and delays. A National Highways spokesperson said: "There's now a lane 1 closure in place on the M4 westbound between J18 and J19 following a HGV Fire. All lanes were closed westbound between Junction 18 (Bath) and 19 (M32/Bristol) due to a vehicle fire from 7.30am.
