Amazon has announced further organisational changes that will impact approximately 16,000 roles globally, with the company placing emphasis on internal redeployment and transition support for affected employees.
While many teams completed restructuring efforts in October, others finalised these changes only recently.
To support impacted employees, Galetti said most US-based staff whose roles are affected will be given up to 90 days to seek alternative roles internally, with timelines varying internationally in line with local regulations.
Employees who are unable to secure a new role within the organisation, or who choose not to pursue redeployment, will receive transition support including severance pay, outplacement services, and continued health insurance benefits where applicable.
Addressing concerns over the possibility of recurring large-scale layoffs, the leader said the changes do not signal a new pattern of frequent broad reductions.
