SUPERIOR — The mayoral election is more than a year away, but it will be a contested election. Former city councilor and lifelong Superior resident Dan Olson has filed paperwork announcing his intention to run. ADVERTISEMENTOlson served on the Superior City Council from 2008 to 2020 and was selected three times to serve as council president. With plans to retire Jan. 29, 2027, Olson said it is a good time to run in an April 2027 election. Local Ballots take shape in Douglas County Candidates line up for April 7 elections for the Douglas County Board, Superior City Council, and Superior, Maple, and Solon Springs school boards.
