Borders man who caused disturbance on day of prison release sent back to jail

Andrew Atkinson, 38, got drunk after getting out of prison last Tuesday and then turned up later that day at the Department for Work and Pensions in High Street, Galashiels, where he shouted, swore, uttered threats of violence, refused to leave when asked and acted in an aggressive manner.
READ MORE: Motorist took drugs before driving on the A7Atkinson, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty at Selkirk Sheriff Court on Thursday to a charge of threatening or abusive behaviour and causing fear and alarm.
He was sent back to jail for four months – the sentence reduced from six months due to the guilty plea.
