On Saturday, February 21, the Osian String Quartet will play a programme of of music by Dmitri Shostakovich and Antonin Dvorak. Founded at the Royal Northern College of Music, the Osian Ensemble have received coaching and lessons with many highly respected international musician tutors including Levon Chillingarian, Susie Meszaros, Donald Grant and Leanord Elschenbroich. Trombone Quartet InSlideOut, also formed at the Royal Northern College of Music, will perform on Saturday, March 21. InSlideOut are coached at the RNCM by Katy Jones, who started playing the trombone with Kirkby Lonsdale Brass Band. Both concerts take place at All Saints Church, Burton, from 2.30pm and are followed by an opportunity to meet the musicians over homemade cakes, tea and coffee.
