Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil`s disqualification is under review by the Kerala Assembly Ethics Committee on Feb 2.
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala MLA Rahul Mamkootathil could face disqualification or expulsion from the Legislative Assembly after a complaint citing misconduct and violation of Assembly ethics was filed against him.
The Ethics and Privileges Committee of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, appointed by the Speaker, is scheduled to meet on February 2 to examine the complaint, which was submitted by CPM MLA D.K.
According to Assembly rules, the committee can recommend disciplinary measures, including warnings and expulsion, against members involved in unethical conduct or serious misconduct.
The Kerala Legislative Assembly’s Ethics and Privileges Committee has the authority to examine complaints against MLAs and recommend action to uphold the integrity of the House.
