We have to stop allowing budgets to grow simply to cover up for a lack of effective management. Between 2014 and 2024, funding for the health service saw multi-billion-pound increases. We are pouring record amounts of tax revenue into a system where productivity is in a tailspin. It requires the upper and middle management in these bloated institutions to be held responsible for effective delivery. We need to fix (or replace) the bucket before we are asked to pour in another drop.
