The Lahore administration has allotted the rooftops of 10 government schools in the Walled City for the celebration of the traditional Basant Festival 2026, as part of efforts to ensure a safe and well-regulated event. According to officials, the Education Authority Lahore has submitted a report to the School Education Department confirming the selected schools. The Punjab government has granted conditional approval for Basant celebrations from February 6 to 8, under the Punjab Kite-Flying Act 2025.
