The National Assembly Standing Committee on Interior approved the Islamabad Senior Citizenship Bill 2025 on Tuesday, aiming to provide benefits to the city’s elderly residents.
The legislation grants senior citizens a 25 percent discount on selected government and private services, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.

During the meeting, MNA Nabeel Gabol suggested coordinating with NADRA, pointing out that fingerprints of some senior citizens may be unclear.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry added that if successful, the program could be expanded nationwide.
