Santander, the Spanish banking giant, has revealed plans to shut 44 of its branches, in the latest round of cuts at the banking firm.
The firm has announced that the branch, on King Street, Whitehaven, is set to close by the end of January 2027, as part of the latest round of cuts.
It said 291 workers, across the 44 branches, are at risk of redundancy as a result.
The banking giant said the closures are part of an overhaul of its store network linked to a shift from its customers towards its digital services.
