The average household bill for most Hampshire households will increase by eight per cent in April 2026, above the England and Wales average. The company says the rise supports its £8.5 billion plan to upgrade ageing infrastructure, reduce storm overflows, improve environmental protection and deliver more resilient water supplies. Households across England and Wales as a whole are set to see their water bills rise by an average of 5.4 per cent from April. “This is the biggest ever investment in our water infrastructure, and it’s essential to keep services reliable and sustainable long term. Non-household customers will see a 28.1 per cent rise in wholesale water charges, which is partially offset by a 6.3 per cent reduction in wholesale wastewater charges.
