Opposition to the scheme at Cross Green Farm in Thelnetham has come from people living as far away as Finland, Portugal, Switzerland, Japan and USA in a bid to stop it from going ahead. Conditions have been imposed by planning officers to try to mitigate potential noise impacts, including limiting when deliveries can be made. A transport review carried out by Thelnetham Parish Council claims "the associated impacts of the proposed poultry use would lead to adverse impacts to the local highway network." The report before councillors states existing agricultural buildings on the site will be demolished and replaced with purpose-built facilities for poultry farming. However, officers say they are "content" with the potential impacts the scheme could have on the highway following comments made by Suffolk County Council.
