SRINAGAR: Police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district on Thursday arrested three people, including a woman, in connection with a heroin smuggling case in the Vijaypur area. Police said a team from Police Station Vijaypur intercepted an Innova vehicle bearing registration number JK02DD 2516 at Tarapur during a routine checking operation. An official said that the arrested accused have been identified as Fardeen Ahmed Dar of Srinagar, Mohammad Usman of Jammu, and Iqra of Srinagar. Police said a case under FIR No 19 of 2026 has been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act at Police Station Vijaypur. Further investigation into the case is underway to ascertain the source and intended destination of the seized contraband.
