PERSISTENT RAIN IS spreading this afternoon and more flooding is expected in areas already hit. There is currently a Status Yellow rain warning in place in Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, and Waterford. The warning will expire at midnight, but tomorrow brings fresh rain warnings for the same counties, as well as Louth, which has been added to the list for Friday. Northern Ireland will also be covered by the warning Yellow warning tomorrow. Because water conditions can shift quickly, a calm morning can turn dangerous by afternoon, the Coast Guard warned.
