Edo to train 800 youths in digital skills drive

The Edo State Government has finalised plans to train 800 youths in digital skills as part of efforts to prepare them for future work demands.
The Commissioner for Education, Dr Paddy Iyamu, disclosed this on Wednesday in Benin at the flag-off of a six-month Advanced Job Ready Tech Skills Training organised by the state government in collaboration with Google and DeepTech Ready.
“We are going to be certifying about 800 of our students in tech skills so that we can give them opportunities in the international space,” he said.
Also Read:He disclosed that the governor had approved the revamp of the state tech hub for the digital skills drive, adding that no fewer than 25 computer-based test centres were being planned.
Impressed by the invention, Iyamu announced N1m support for the student on behalf of the state government and urged youths to think creatively and embrace innovation.
