Member of Parliament for Kpandai, Matthew Nyindam, has described the Supreme Court’s decision to reinstate him as a clear affirmation of judicial integrity and the supremacy of the rule of law. And the Supreme Court judges have held the integrity of this country to the very highest,” he stated. Mr Nyindam said the ruling reaffirmed his belief that justice in Ghana is accessible to all citizens, including those without political power or influence. Despite the NDC’s indication that it may pursue a review, Mr Nyindam expressed confidence that any further legal process would reach the same conclusion. The Supreme Court, in a 4–1 majority decision, quashed the Tamale High Court ruling that had annulled Mr Nyindam’s election, citing jurisdictional error and restoring his mandate as Member of Parliament for Kpandai.
