Okorie was arrested on Tuesday in Lagos by operatives of the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) and subsequently transferred to Abuja for prosecution. Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed on Wednesday that the actress was taken into custody by the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) in Abuja. Filmmaker Ajemba Stanley, a close associate of Okorie, confirmed that she had been charged to court and remanded. As of this report, neither the Nigeria Police Force nor Okorie’s representatives have provided further details regarding the allegations.
