311 SHARES Share Tweet [mc4wp_form id=33047]The Federal Fire Service (FFS) stated that it saved 2,106 lives and protected property valued at N934.70bn from fire incidents recorded across Nigeria in 2025, underscoring what it described as a year of significant operational impact. According to the report, the Service responded to 1,866 fire incidents nationwide, with 114 fatalities recorded, while 198 civilians and five firefighters sustained varying degrees of injuries. The report estimated property loss at about N74.75bn, indicating that the Service successfully protected approximately 92.59 per cent of the total value at risk during the incidents. Markets and trading centres accounted for 190 incidents, vehicles for 177, while other premises recorded 105 cases. In a related interview with NAN, the Controller-General of the FFS, Samuel Olumode, said the Service recorded notable achievements in life-saving and asset protection but stressed the need to intensify preventive efforts.
