The National Farmers’ Union (NFU) is inviting feedback from the farming community ahead of a proposed white-tailed eagle reintroduction in Cumbria. A consultation event led by the NFU will take place on February 18 at 6.30pm at Junction 36 Auction Mart. The consultation will include presentations from NFU species reintroduction lead Poppy Sherbourne, as well as academics, farmers, and land managers who have direct experience with white-tailed eagles. Attendees will hear the latest evidence on eagle behaviour, environmental impact, and findings from previous reintroduction projects. The NFU has emphasised the importance of evidence-based decision-making and is encouraging members to share their perspectives at the event.
