Mr Oliver Whiley has applied for planning permission to convert a vacant unit at Carnforth Business Park, close to Junction 35 of the M6. The building, which used to operate as a Brethren members-only retail club, has been empty since September 2025 after all retail clubs ceased trading nationwide. A planning statement on behalf of Strong Developments Ltd was included with the application. "However, a new church has also been permitted in March 2025 to the north along Oakwood Way but not yet started. The planning application, submitted on December 22, 2025 is still under consideration by the city council.
