Rail service disruptions in west and south Cumbria
['Tom Cockburn']
The Westmorland Gazette | News
Northern Rail services between Lancaster, Barrow, and Corkickle are set to see some disruption heading into the afternoon because of a reported electricity supply failure between Sellafield and Corkickle stations this morning.
All lines have now reopened but the ‘minor disruption’ is set to continue until 4.30pm today, according to trainslive.uk.
This is due to train services running between Lancaster, Barrow, and Corkickle being ‘delayed or revised’.
As a result of this morning’s disruption, rail replacement transport was organised for services between Sellafield and Corkickle.
Some people may be entitled to compensation due to the disruption and are told to keep their tickets and mark their journey times before putting in a claim to the rail provider.
