Ross’s Close has already been identified as part of a project aiming to make “a positive impact” in the town centre. A drop-in session for the Haddington Three Closes Project takes place in the town’s library on Saturday. Susan Forgie, who is a member of both Haddington and District Community Council and Haddington Central Tenants and Residents Association (HCTRA), encouraged people to head along between 11am and 3pm. She said: “You look at some of the closes, like Shiell's Close and the walk up to Tesco, and it is really dark and quite intimidating. A feasibility study has now been carried out, with the scheme looking to follow in the footsteps of Edinburgh’s Twelve Closes Project, which focused on enhancing 12 historic alleyways that branch off the Royal Mile.
