More than 1,800 sign new petition against parking charges in East Lothian

Dozens of parking meters and more than 140 poles have been put in place in North Berwick ahead of charging getting under way at the beginning of March.
Meanwhile, steps are being taken to see similar schemes introduced in Dunbar, Haddington, Musselburgh and Tranent.
The introduction of parking charges and strict time limits comes in the face of widespread opposition from both businesses and residents in the various towns and surrounding villages.
Already, more than £800,000 has been spent on various consultations to gain feedback from members of the public.
“It is part of a formal consultation stage, which will provide the public with an additional opportunity to raise representations.
