Documents, prepared by Botelho Wood Architects, proposed that Gilbert Institute be transformed into a government-subsidised facility which would offer “accessible, high-quality care” for up to 50 clients. David Burt, the Premier, announced in January 2025 that plans were under way to convert the facility into a daycare for seniors.
