The 'navigating dementia' session will be held at Care UK’s Colne View care home from 11am to 4pm on Thursday, February 12 as part of The Big Dementia Conversation. Kim Richardson, senior customer relations manager at Care UK, will lead the session. Care UK research shows that 39 per cent of people avoid visiting relatives with dementia due to the difficulties involved, and 96 per cent believe communication barriers prevent meaningful interaction. They have also launched a new online advice hub, featuring interviews with families of people living with dementia, as well as expert guidance from Care UK specialists. Colne View care home, located on Dame Mary Walk off Colchester Road, offers full-time residential, dementia, and nursing care, including short-term respite stays.
