The 21-year-old admitted one offence of possessing cannabis and one of drug-driving - both of which took place in Wrexham. Prosecutor Grace Carson told the court that on December 10 last year, police stopped and searched the defendant's car. Ms Carson told the court Benbattouche was up in court earlier this month for a separate drug-drive offence, for which he received a fine and 12 month ban. Ms Cooper said the defendant accepted he'd be handed a longer ban given it wasn't the first drug-drive offence on his recent record. District Judge Gwyn Jones handed down a £200 fine for the drug-drive offence and a £100 fine for the possession.
