In a statment to the Donegal News, a HSE spokesperson said the figure is the overall income figure, and it does not include deductions of operational costs necessary to provide car parking at the hospital. “Car park income forms part of the Hospital’s overall budget. Any profits from car parking have been re-invested into developments of extra car parking spaces, upgrading of security systems including CCTV, installation of an access control system and ongoing maintenance of car parks on the campus.”The hospital is in discussions with HSE Captial and Estates to extend the hospital car parks.
