All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has unveiled its provisional timetable for the 2026 Anambra State Local Government primary elections, outlining key dates and procedures for aspirants seeking elective positions at the grassroots level. The timetable was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday in Awka by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara. The party also announced that the screening of chairmanship and councillorship aspirants will be conducted between February 7 and February 11 across the 21 local government areas and 326 wards in the state. “The chairmanship primary election will hold on Feb. 15 while appeals arising from the primaries will be handled on Feb. 16, all in Awka, it stated.”APGA fixed the cost of chairmanship nomination forms at N6 million, while councillorship forms were pegged at N600,000.00. APGA, therefore, urged all intending aspirants to strictly adhere to the approved guidelines and comply fully with the party’s electoral regulations throughout the primary election process.
