At a Powys Teaching Health Board meeting on Wednesday, January 28, members were given an update on how its budget had performed so far. Finance director Pete Hopgood said that PTHB is reporting a £24.991 million deficit after nine months of the financial year - £3.75 million more than the £21.23 million predicted. He added that the health board had identified and delivered £20 million in “improvements” already this year. Mr Hopgood said: “That is a significant achievement for the health board and a higher figure than we’ve been able to deliver in a considerable amount of time.
