Ten no Meshi, a Kyoto-born restaurant specializing in tonkatsu and gyu-katsu, will open its doors Thursday in the Sawtelle neighborhood, introducing its Japanese cutlet-focused menu to Los Angeles.
Ten no Meshi brings a style of Japanese dining rooted in Kyoto, featuring breaded and fried pork and wagyu beef cutlets served with traditional accompaniments.
Ten no Meshi’s menu centers on tonkatsu and gyu-katsu, including wagyu beef served on a heated stone that allows diners to finish cooking the meat at the table.
The Sawtelle opening marks the restaurant’s first location in Southern California.
