Prof. Tushar Jana of UoH elected as a Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences, BengaluruSenior professor Tushar Jana of the University of Hyderabad has been elected a Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences for 2026, recognising his sustained contributions to polymer chemistry and materials science, including advanced research on membranes, hydrogen energy and sustainable polymers.
By Telangana Today Published Date - 29 January 2026, 04:02 PMHyderabad: Prof. Tushar Jana, Senior Professor in the School of Chemistry, University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been elected as a Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences (IAS), Bengaluru for the year 2026, in recognition of his outstanding and sustained contributions to the fields of polymer chemistry and materials science.
in Chemistry from the University of Calcutta, and completed his Ph.D. at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata.
He joined the University of Hyderabad in 2005 and has been serving as Professor of Chemistry since 2013.
Prof. Jana’s research focuses on polymer membranes, hydrogen energy, polymeric nanostructures, sustainable polymers and polyurethanes.
