Rep. Samara Heavrin’s bill that would strengthen support for children who suffer from difficulties reading and writing unanimously passed the Kentucky House. The measure, House Bill 389, passed through the Kentucky House by a 95-0 vote on Wednesday. “Students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, or other reading and writing difficulties require strong supports to help them achieve their fullest potential in school,’ Heavrin said. “The General Assembly is committed to improving reading and writing literacy in our commonwealth,” Heavrin added. When our challenged students succeed, all students succeed.”Heavrin, a Republican from Leitchfield, has 15 co-sponsors on the bipartisan measure.
