And yet, for a modern-day Queen such as Mary of Denmark, royal life also provides an opportunity to make one’s own stamp on history.
One of these new finds was on full display when she joined her husband, King Frederik, on the Danish state visit to Lithuania on Wednesday.
Queen Mary and the First Lady then made their way to the Ukrainian Centre while the King and the President went behind closed doors for a meeting.
The Danish Queen wore a floral jacquard blazer and a matching pencil skirt from Erdem for the day’s activities, pinning a yellow and blue flower by her lapel in solidarity with the wartorn country.
