In York, levels on the River Ouse passing from Lendal Bridge to Millennium Bridge are expected to caused flooding today (January 29) to riverside properties and further to the south of the city, St George's Field car and coach park and Rowntree Park are now also under the same warning. New Walk was also covered in water at the bottom of Blue Bridge Lane and Tower Gardens in the city centre also was under water in places. The EA warning notice at 10.17pm last night for the River Ouse in York city centre said flooding is expected for riverside properties and riverside areas from Lendal Bridge to Millenium Bridge. At the Viking Recorder measuring station in North Street Gardens the River Ouse level, measured at 5.45am, stood at 3.29 metres and falling, above its normal range of 1.9 metres. The Environment Agency said property flooding is possible above three metres and levels here are higher than at the same time yesterday morning, when riverside walkways in King's Staith and Queen's Staith were still under water.
