The victim suffered first degree burns and other injuries in what police called "an appalling act of violence." Decker, of Chatsworth Grove, Harrogate, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, actual bodily harm, possession of a knife in public and threatening a person with a knife. Detective Constable Thomas Bowman from Harrogate CID said: “This was an appalling act of violence that left the victim with serious injuries. “Although incidents like this are thankfully rare in North Yorkshire, we continue to see the consequences of knife crime across the country. When the victim attempted to intervene, Decker threw boiling water at his face before producing a knife from his trousers and stabbing him twice.
