In Search of a Revival is the label’s latest offering, and it already stands among the greatest instrumental soul albums in recent memory. As a result, the aptly named In Search of a Revival is a record without a dull moment. It isn’t an element of cinematic soul that often gets much attention, but the guitar performances on this track are incredibly strong. It is an album packed with different ideas and avenues of inspiration, yet its cohesion and relevance are utterly unavoidable – the latter being a particularly impressive attribute for an instrumental album.
