Waterparks condemn Donald Trump and ICE on new protest songWaterparks have released a political protest song, titled ‘ICE’, which lashes out at President Donald Trump and the surge in ICE troops in Minneapolis. The pop-punk band hone heavier influences in a Rage Against the Machine-inspired track, which opens with a dark guitar line, and sees singer Awsten Knight rage: “Fuck Trump / Fuck ICE / Everyone involved / Everyday is closer to the fall”. Recorded last night.” Their upcoming sixth album is set for release this month, but this single appears to be a spontaneous stand-alone. Waterparks aren’t the first to reignite the protest song in reaction to the situation in Minneapolis. On January 28th, Bruce Springsteen released an anti-ICE protest song, ‘Streets of Minneapolis’, in honour of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, who were both killed by ICE agents in Minnesota.
