The Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) ground in Colombo has entered an exciting new chapter ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. For the first time in its 75-year history, the historic cricket venue has been equipped with floodlights, allowing it to host day-night matches. During the T20 World Cup, SSC will host five matches, starting with the Pakistan vs Netherlands match on the opening day, February 7. The modernization of SSC reflects Sri Lanka Cricket’s efforts to upgrade stadium facilities across the country and provide world-class venues for international cricket. The floodlights are expected to be used in other future tournaments as well, making SSC a key venue for international cricket in the years to come.
