Planning documents stated: “The application site comprises Hawthorn Community Centre, a single‐storey community building located on Orange Grove within a residential area.
“The existing community centre building provides approximately 392 square-metres of internal space, currently configured as a main hall, meeting rooms, kitchen facilities, and ancillary accommodation.
“The proposal seeks to convert the existing community centre to provide specialist educational facilities for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
Plans added: “The proposal addresses the identified need for specialist SEND provision within Warrington, supporting the local authority's statutory duties.
“The school will contribute positively to the community through its educational mission and community engagement activities.”
