Police confirm person has died on rail tracks as emergency services rush to scene

Earlier this morning, National Rail revealed that emergency services were dealing with an incident on the tracks between Crewe, Runcorn and Warrington Bank Quay.
A spokesperson said that to allow them to complete their work safely, all lines had been closed.
A British Transport Police spokesperson has now confirmed that the force was dealing with a casualty on the tracks.
A BTP spokesperson said: “Officers and paramedics attended and sadly a person was pronounced deceased.
It comes following the tragic news yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, that a person had died on the tracks at Hartford Station.
